In a Nutshell:

  • Students blocked all four lanes of Dhaka Mymensingh highway in Uttara today
  • Separate group blocked Dhaka Aricha highway at Pakiza intersection in Savar
  • Traffic came to a standstill toward central Dhaka and Gazipur
  • Education minister urged students to end protests, promised re-exams

Why it Matters

This is the second straight day of highway blockades, showing the education minister's parliament assurance a day earlier did nothing to calm students. Protesters explicitly rejected his promise, vowing to continue until their demands are met and pushing ahead with a planned long march to the education ministry.

What We Think

Repeating a blockade a day after the minister's assurances shows students simply do not trust the government's word anymore. When a promise in parliament fails to stop protests within 24 hours, it points to a credibility gap, not a communication problem.
