What is the legal process for a President to leave office in Bangladesh?
The process goes as followed:
- More than half of all MPs must file impeachment charges. Parliament debates the motion within 14–30 days.
- Parliament may order an investigation into any allegations. The President has legal right to defend themselves.
- At least 2/3rds of all MPs must vote to uphold the charges. If the motion passes, the President is removed from office immediately.
