Recognizing this, political parties have now officially aligned together to mount intense, unified pressure on the Modi government.
What We Think
Modi may face severe internal pressure from within his own party. While he has previously announced that a cabinet reshuffle is on the horizon, removing Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is not an easy choice and certainly not what he wants to do. If the opposition can stay united and sustain this intense pressure alongside the protesters for just a week or so, PM Modi may be forced to do exactly what he wishes to avoid: remove his Odisha strategist from the cabinet to save his administration from a paralyzing national crisis.
