Minesweeper

How to play

Some squares hide mines. Tap a square to uncover it. A number tells you how many mines touch that square, counting the eight around it. Use the numbers to work out where the mines are, flag them, and uncover every other square to win.

  • Your first tap is always safe.
  • On a phone, long-press a square to flag it, or switch on flag mode.
  • On a computer, right-click to flag. Click a satisfied number to open the squares around it.
  • Arrow keys move around the board, and F flags.

Today’s board

Everyone gets the same board each day, so you can compare times with friends. A new one appears at 10 PM Bangladesh time. Clear it each day to build a streak. Your streak and best times are saved in this browser only.

A short history

Minesweeper became a fixture of office computers when it shipped with Windows 3.1 in 1992. For millions of people it was the game they played when the boss walked past. It also helped many first-time computer users get comfortable with the mouse, especially the right-click.
