For the duration of the entire war, the US has stuck to a particular stance: dismiss, deny and ignore any criticism. It has maintained that all strikes are in retaliation to provocation from Iran. At best, the claim of “defensive” strikes is an attempt to avoid responsibility for civilian casualties in a war the US is struggling to gain an upper hand in even after five months. But calling a strike “defensive” cannot justify children losing their lives at places of learning where they should be safest.
